MathsWithDan was founded in 2018 by two siblings with a shared passion for teaching and a commitment to making quality maths education accessible to all. Our mission has always been to provide affordable, high-quality tuition that helps students build confidence and achieve their full potential.
The platform is led by Daniel, a specialist in Mathematics, and Cherish, a specialist in both Mathematics and Physics. Together, they bring years of experience in teaching and curriculum development, ensuring that students receive structured, expert-led guidance tailored to their needs.

Meet the team.
Daniel Akinleye - Lead Educator
Daniel Akinleye is a Mathematics specialist, online educator, and course creator with years of experience helping students excel in their exams. With a First-Class Mathematics degree and a passion for teaching, Daniel has worked with thousands of students worldwide, delivering structured lessons designed to build confidence and mastery in maths.
Since then, Daniel has taught A-Level Mathematics sessions at King’s College London and Imperial College London, delivered motivational talks in Saudi Arabia, and built an extensive online learning platform.
Cherish Akaraiwe - Director of Business Operations
Cherish is a specialist in Physics and Mathematics, who has taught internationally across Asia and Europe. Cherish is always looking for ways to implement technology in the classroom to improve student learning experiences, as in her opinion EdTech is the future. Cherish is also a self-professed lifelong learner with multiple degrees under her belt. Cherish is responsible for business operations and also provides online tuition.
Dan's Journey
Dan didn't find maths easy, and that shapes how he teaches. Having struggled with it himself, he knows where students get stuck, which gaps cause problems later, and how quickly one bad result convinces someone they're just not a maths person.
A difficult start
Dan sat his first A-Level Maths exams and came out with an E. The advice at the time was that maths probably wasn't the right path for him.
Starting again
He switched sixth forms and went back to it, changing how he studied rather than simply doing more of it. A year later he finished with an A*.
A degree in Mathematics
He went on to study maths at university, graduating with First-Class honours, and started tutoring alongside it.
MathsWithDan begins
Founded in 2018 with his sister Cherish, a maths and physics specialist, with the aim of making good teaching affordable enough that cost isn't the thing that decides who gets it.
Teaching more widely
Dan has since taught A-Level sessions at King's College London and Imperial, run workshops for schools in the UK and abroad, and built an online platform alongside live weekly classes for GCSE and A-Level students.
